Arrival and Pick-up arrangements Minimize

ARRIVALS BY AIR

Delegates will be collected from the Airport if they notify their travel arrangements, including Airline, Flight  and ETA/ETD in good time.  This includes air arrivals at Brussels International, Eindhoven or Maastricht.

Charleroi:  We do not collect arrivals at Charleroi (on Ryanair).  Delegates should use Eindhoven by preference because Charleroi is a long way from Hasselt.  The one an a half  hours road journey is a difficult one and our volunteer driver would have to be committed for a long time to make the collection.  We need to concentrate our volunteer resources on meeting arrivals to Brussels International (Zavantem) Eindhoven, Maastrict and Kline Brogel.  Arrivals at Charleroi should either hire a car or take the coach (every hour) to Brussels Midi Railway Station; from there take a train direct to Hasselt or the express transfer out to Brussels Internatuional for collection from the Arrivals area at that Airport.

  1. Brussels International Airport Zaventem – BRX

 Arrival at Airport

1.  Look for EAC Representative at the arrivals area after collecting your baggage.  The Representative will hold a board with ‘EAC’ on it.

2.  If you do not see the Representative at the arrivals area, go to the  Bar in the Arrival Hall which is on your left hand side as you come out  into the Arrivals Hall.  (see diagram below - follow the 'pink' arrow!)  The EAC Representative will find you there.

3.  Contact numbers after arrival are:

Gilbert (Chairman) mobile: 0032 (0) 475599199

Bob (Executive) mobile: 0044 (0) 7884110631

Holiday Inn Reception: 0032 (0) 11242200

ARRIVALS BY TRAIN

Brussels Main Railway Station (Eurotrain) – Midi Station

Arrival at Railway Station

We would ask you to continue your journey on to Hasselt by using Belgian Train Services which go to Hasselt from Brussels-Midi Station.  This journey is at no extra charge to travellers by Eurotrain.  You can walk to the hotels from Hasselt station in about 15 minutes.  If you need a lift from the station to the hotel, there is a free bus service that runs anti-clockwise around the Hasselt inner ring-road every 5-10 minutes. (The positions of the Holiday Inn Hotel and Railway Station on the ring-road are at 12 o'clock and 9 o'clock respectively!")  Lastly, you can take a taxi!

If you do not or cannot travel on by train from Brussels, the alternative is to ask us to collect you from the Airport and the procedure is shown below:

1.  It is very difficult to meet passengers arriving by train in the centre of Brussels and heavy traffic can make the journey out of the city a very slow one.  It is much easier to collect you from the Airport and, unless you have been told otherwise, go to the Airport.

2.  When you arrive at Midi Station, you will see clear signs to tell you how to get to the Train out to the Airport.  Take a train to the Airport.

3.  By train, Brussels Airport is less than twenty minutes from the city centre. From 05:30 till nearly midnight, the Airport City Express links the airport with Brussels Midi, Central and North four times an hour.

4.  When you arrive at the Airport station go up a level to the Arrivals Hall and go to the Bar in the Arrivals Hall.  The Representative will hold a clipboard with ‘EAC’ on it.  The EAC Representative will find you there.

5.  Contact numbers after arrival are:

Gilbert (Chairman) mobile: 0032 (0) 475599199

Bob (Executive) mobile: 0044 (0) 7884110631
